October: A Month of Haunted Histories

Join the Washington County Historical Society and the Bassettown Paranormal Society on October 9th and 10th for Ghastly Tales of Gallows Hill and the LeMoyne Crematory. Hear tales of the first hangings and experience the stories of the LeMoyne Crematory as we bring the ashes of the first person cremated back to the building. Tours begin at 7pm and will run every 20 minutes until 11pm. Tickets are $5 per person. For more information contact the Washington County Historical Society at 724-225-6740 or www.wchspa.org

The month of haunts continues the weekend of October 23rd and 24th when the Bradford House Historical Association and the Bassettown Paranormal Society present Ghosts of Washington: Haunted History Walking Tours. Tours will leave from the garden of the Bradford House Museum, 175 South Main Street, Washington approximately every 20 minutes between 6pm – 9:40pm and last about an hour, ending at the Palmer House, 44 East Maiden Street.   Free parking is available on the street or in nearby city lots.  Cost is $5 per person.  Hot beverages, snacks, and souvenirs will be available for purchase.  Visit www.bradfordhouse.org for more information.  Large groups (15 or more) may book a private walking tour for 5:30 or 10:00 p.m.
